Who we are and what this policy covers
Blind Measure & Quote is provided by Tapston Development, LLC ("Tapston," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to the current iOS version of the Blind Measure & Quote mobile application (the "App") and to this policy webpage.
The App is a professional work tool for blind, shade, shutter, and insect-screen installers. It does not currently provide user accounts or cloud synchronization. If the App's data practices change, we will update this policy and the relevant App Store privacy disclosures.
Information processed on your device
The App may store and process the following information locally:
- job names, statuses, dates, site addresses, and notes;
- client names, phone numbers, and email addresses;
- your business name, contact details, logo, default currency, and pricing preferences;
- room and opening labels, measurements, deductions, installation details, product specifications, materials, colors, options, and notes;
- price lists, labour, delivery, markup, discount, tax, and calculated totals;
- optional reference photos and measurement estimates you explicitly apply;
- generated quote PDFs, production-sheet PDFs, CSV files, and ZIP backups; and
- preferences such as language, measurement units, appearance, and onboarding state.
We do not receive this job content. The current App Store version has no Tapston server for uploading or synchronizing it.
Camera, photos, and assisted measurement
The App requests camera access only after you choose to take a reference photo or start an optional camera-assisted measurement. It opens Apple's photo picker only after you choose an existing photo or business logo. Manual measurement and pricing remain available without photo-library access.
Selected photos are copied into the App's local storage. We do not upload them to our servers, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models. The App does not request your location, contacts, or microphone.
On compatible LiDAR-equipped Apple devices, an optional RoomPlan session can suggest approximate window dimensions. The room scan is processed on the device; the App does not retain or upload a room model. Only dimensions you review and explicitly apply become part of the local job. Camera estimates are not a substitute for verified physical measurements.
Exports, sharing, backup, and restore
PDFs, CSV files, and ZIP backups are created on your device. The App opens the iOS share sheet or file picker only after you request an export, backup, share, or restore action. You choose the recipient or storage provider.
After you send or save a file outside the App, the selected person, application, or provider handles that copy under its own terms and privacy practices. Deleting a job inside the App does not remove copies you previously emailed, messaged, printed, or saved elsewhere. Restoring a backup imports its contents into local App storage.
Subscriptions and payments
Purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple's App Store through StoreKit. Apple processes your store account, payment method, transaction, refund, and related purchase information under the Apple Privacy Policy.
The App reads product information and locally verified active entitlements so it can show prices, activate Pro features, restore purchases, and open Apple's subscription-management experience. We do not receive your payment-card or bank details through the App, and the current iOS version does not send StoreKit purchase tokens or your job content to a Tapston server.
Analytics and crash diagnostics
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate feature and screen usage, app version, device and operating-system information, language, country-level region, and an app-instance identifier. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash stack traces, relevant application state, app and device information, and installation or session identifiers. Crash reports may contain Analytics breadcrumb events immediately before a crash.
Tapston does not add client names, addresses, measurements, photos, quote contents, purchase tokens, or free-text job notes to Analytics or Crashlytics fields. Google processes this limited information as Tapston's Firebase service provider. Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning deletion. Analytics retention follows the setting configured for the Blind Measure Firebase property. Learn more in Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.
This policy website
This page is hosted with Firebase Hosting, a Google service. When you visit it, Firebase Hosting processes the IP address of the incoming request to deliver the page, detect abuse, and provide hosting usage information. Firebase states that Hosting retains IP data for a few months.
This page has no advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, third-party fonts, or cookies set by Tapston. Learn more in Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.
Support communications
If you contact us using the developer support details shown on the App Store product page, we receive the contact address you use, your message, any attachments you choose to send, and the resulting correspondence. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and keep a reasonable record of the resolution.
Please do not send real client photos, addresses, measurements, or documents unless they are strictly necessary to investigate your request and you are authorized to share them.
Sharing, sale, and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, use advertising identifiers, or operate an advertising network.
Limited information may be processed by Apple for App Store purchases, Google for Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and delivery and security of this policy website, and a destination you select from the system share sheet or file picker. Each handles information under its own terms. We may also disclose information we actually hold when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transaction subject to applicable safeguards.
Retention and deletion
On-device information
Job data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, or remove the App, subject to iOS and device-backup behaviour. You can remove a photo from a job and delete jobs within the App. Archiving a job does not delete it. Removing the App normally removes its app-local copy of this information.
Original images remain in your photo library until you delete them there. Exports and backups must be deleted separately from every destination where you saved or shared them. Because Tapston does not receive your local job database, we cannot access, recover, or remotely delete it for you.
Information held by service providers or support
Apple retains purchase information under its policies. Firebase retains Analytics and Crashlytics data as described above, and Firebase Hosting retains IP data as described above. We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.
Security and international processing
We use measures appropriate to the limited information we handle, including local-first storage, data minimization, HTTPS for this website, and restricted access to support communications. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. You are responsible for securing your device, backups, exports, Apple Account, and any client information you record.
Apple and Google may process purchase, analytics, diagnostic, website-request, or support-related information in countries other than the one where you live. Their processing is subject to their contractual, organizational, and legal safeguards.
Your choices and privacy rights
- Camera and photos: change or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Local job data: edit or delete it in the App, or remove the App.
- Shared files: manage each copy with the recipient or storage provider you selected.
- Subscription: view, change, or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings.
- Privacy requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of personal information we hold, withdraw consent where applicable, and complain to a privacy regulator.
To make a privacy request or ask a question, use the developer support contact shown on the App Store product page and include enough information for us to identify the relevant correspondence. Do not send a full client document or sensitive measurement file.
Children's privacy
Blind Measure & Quote is a professional business tool and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us through the developer support details on the App Store product page.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the App, our services, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version at this same URL and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how information is processed, we will provide additional notice where required.
